Below are some examples of my work, ranging from websites, UI/UX and graphic design. Each piece of Work shows off my different skill with programming languages, or design programs and my understanding of design.
My name is Josh Foti and I am a web developer and designer. Throughout my studies, I have become competent in several different programming languages, including (SASS, jQuery and PHP). Simple, yet effective is my design philosophy as I believe it describes the key information in a clear, concise and aesthetic fashion. My main passion is web development, however I am also interested in UI/UX and graphic design. Throughout my studies, I have used and developed my skills with Adobe Creative Cloud Suite and its graphic design programs (Photoshop, Illustrator, Indesign, and Experience Design). I also had the opportunity to be a part of the Curtin Graduate Show committee which allowed me to collaborate alongside my peers to showcase our efforts in the final year of our degree.
The Curtin 2017 Gradshow site runs off a simple php framework designed by Daniel Brouse. The site showcases my abilty to utilize php, sas and jQuery to create a clean user friendly site
The Easy park app is a fairly simple app that is used by over one million users all around the world to pay for parking. After using it a few times you realise that the app is missing some functionality, quality, and overall polish. To improve the app, I am going to redesign it using googles material design language.
For this project, I will be designing a web site for the start-up company Uni Share Car. Uni Share Cars is an affordable rental car service for university students. Students can book a car from multiple locations around campus and pay per the hour. Giving them an easy and cheap way to rent a car. The website must allow users to be able to book online, find cars by either class make, size, seats and extra features, the website must also be able to let users update their personal information. Overall the web site must be intuitive and easy to use.
The Library Kiosk at Curtin University is unintuitive, unorganised, and poorly optimised mess. To fix this issue I need to redesign the user interface to help improve the user experience. By making the user interface more approachable students will be more inclined to interact with the device.
For an assignment I was required to create a brand identity for myself I chose below the fold , because it not only represents the web it also represents thinking outside the box.
